Viva la France!
Hoowee, oolala, and boy howdy! Back at the hotel after playing SUCH a fun, kickin’ show at the Good Rockin’ Tonight festival in Attignat, with some pretty amazing folks from all over- Wanda Jackson (need I say more), Roddy Jackson, Jack Rabbit Slim (from the UK), Levi Dexter, Big Jamboree (from Spain), our ever-lovin’ pal Bloodshot Bill (from Canada) and so many other great bands. What a weekend!
It’s amazing to me how many different type folks come out to shows over here in Europe- you got your Teddy boys, your cowboys, your bikers, your rockabilly greasers in full Quiff/Banana/Pompadour (same thing), Betty Page darlings, etc. etc. And everybody loves the music and has a great time- I LOVE it over here! Oh, and Levi brought his lovely wife, Bernie, who must have worn herself out smiling for all the photos with folks all weekend. She’s a sweetheart, as was most everyone there.
I had the opportunity to smash folks over the head with my years-old French, we played a really great show (hey, I had ‘em tapping so that’s how I know), and overall, just had a great weekend with the fellas. It’s all good.
We’ll be over here- traveling through Belgium, Holland, back to France, and then to Germany, for nearly a month. I’ll be blogging away, and the gents (Adam, our new drummer, and Kevin Fox the F-Bomb bassman) may even chime in over time.
Thanks to all our new (and old) friends in France- especially un grand merci a Jackie et Liliane pour nous emmener ici- a bientot! Ruby
