Tour like a pro!

PROFESSIONAL TOURING WORKSHOP
SATURDAY JANUARY 30TH, 2010 2pm-5pm

411 West Monroe Austin, TX 78704
in partnership with the Austin Art and Music Partnership
Admission: $10

After years of learning the ropes as a touring band, Ruby Dee and Jorge Harada of Ruby Dee and the Snakehandlers have compiled a plethora of information for those who desire to load gear into a van and ply their trade to the masses ‘out there’. The workshop is primarily geared for unsigned artists looking to go on tour for the first time, signed artists to indy labels with no tour or booking support, or anyone who’s interested in booking their own tour or helping someone else book theirs. Get an insight on how it’s done in the trenches, with little budget, and how to get organized to ensure your success. The following topics will be covered, along with take home samples to accompany your own personal notes:

  • Mapping and booking a tour
  • What to have before you start (with sample contracts)
  • Budgeting (with sample spreadsheets) and how to maximize it
  • Tips to save money on hotels, meals, gas, etc.
  • Safety and sanity tips …
  • and more!

This acclaimed touring workshop/clinic has been presented at the Americana Music Association Conference 2008 in Nashville, TN, music clinics, and musician’s community events throughout the Puget Sound. We’re very excited to do the presentation for the first time in our new homebase of Austin, TX!

Please note: The venue can only hold about 100 people, so get there early to guarantee a good spot. Looking forward to seeing you! If you know other musicians or artists who may be interested, please send them this link: http://wp.me/pnpAu-bk
