Oh what a night
Oh what a night- man, Austin never ceases to amaze me! We played at Evangeline Cafe, our neighborhood haunt, literally just down the street from our house- and if you’ve never been, this place has GREAT Cajun food, wonderful folks who work there, and one of the nicest owners you could ever hope to meet. So Liz, our old rhythm guitarist, and I, walked down there, ate dinner, and greeted friends who came out to see us. When we got there, we noticed someone with a Knut Bell shirt on, mentioned it, and then realized that we know these folks! They were all in town from Seattle, just down for a visit around old Austin, saw that we were playing, and came out to see us! These are old fans from way back, folks who have seen us at the Brick, the Little Red Hen, and so many other places, I can’t even think.
So we played a fun show, and these fans from afar had a great time! And… a friend of ours from Seattle who also moved here to Austin got up on stage with us and asked his gal to marry him. He’d arranged it with us at the last minute, so it was totally impromptu and a lot of fun. Ayeeee, what a night. She said yes. Everyone lost control, and the show went on. Man I love this stuff!
Congrats to Morgan and Zach- we were so happy to be there and a part of it.
We’re having fun with Liz and keeping it Texas!
Look forward to seeing you all soon, Ruby
