By the way, I don’t want folks to think all we’re in this for is the money. Hell no! We’d do something else if that was what it was about. Nope, we play music for the love of it- the writing, the fleshing out of a tune, the watching it come alive in rehearsal and at shows with folks responding. That’s the best!
Nah, I was just sharing about merch in my last blog cause that’s how a lot of bands make it from one town to the next out here on the road. And how I just couldn’t figure it out, how to read what to expect! Hope it didn’t come off as a complaint, but rather as a contemplative, informative blog.
Either way, I forgot to mention the incredible food we had yesterday- great lamb kabobs, and then yummy pasta and salad- the Dutch really know how to feed a band!
And, our radio interview was hilarious- it started off with the DJ announcing “Jorgito from Ruby Dee and the Snakehandlers”! That’s my pet name for Jorge, what his mom calls him, and now all of Belgium!! Jorge has to kill Gert now…
