How do friends and even enemies, I s’pose! Well, our long and soul-tormenting search is at long last over. Jorge and I finally made our danged minds up last night, and chose a new rhythm section to join the Snakehandlers and make some kind of history, somewhere…
We’ll start rehearsing this next week, working on all 4 sets worth of tunes in time for our third tour to Europe in May- with a small trial run here in Austin on March 22nd- that’s only a few weeks away, so you can guess that I’m chomping at that bit! Rehearsals up!
We hope you’ll have the chance to come out and meet these fellas- they’re incredibly nice gents: Jordan Teitelbaum from Dallas, who’s played with a bunch of folks around here, most notably of late with Horse Opera. He’s on drums, and man can he make them swing… then there’s Leslie McCurdy- we sorta think of him as Pete #2 in a way. The man can play in the pocket like nearly no-one’s business. Obviously then, he’s on bass guitar- playing a relic 58′ Precision, oooo… he’s played with The Mother Truckers most recently, and can sing too, so I’m happy on that count for certain!
So if you can, come out to the Nutty Brown Cafe on March 22nd for that SXSW Showcase there- starts at noon with folks like Dave Insley, James Intveld, the Vaquetones, and more. We go on at 7:30, a nice juicy slot, and hope to rock the house!
Otherwise, hey, we know we’ll see ya down the road. Miss our old pals, and making new ones.
See ya soon friends,
